TERRACE BAY, ON – Thursday, May 8th St. Martin School was a host to the bi-annual clothing swap that continues to generate a considerable amount of interest in our small community.  For two weeks parents from the Terrace Bay and Schreiber communities brought children’s clothing from sizes 0 to 16 (some adult clothing too!) to the school.

The organizer of this event, Kathie Shermack sorted all of the clothing according to gender and size and then had it arranged for display in the gym.  Parents were again encouraged to drop in and ‘shop’ for their children during this time.  The intent is always for parents to “bring what they can and take what they need”!  Many children also attended and were thrilled to shop for their own ‘new’ clothes.

Mrs. Shermack continues to be a very valuabe member of the St. Martin School community as twice a year she works tirelessly to prepare for this very exciting event!  We continue to be very blessed to host this amazing event each fall and spring. The clothing that remained at the end of the evening will be donated to the Precious Bundles organization in Thunder Bay.

Start saving your children’s clothes and join us for our next clothing swap to be held in the Fall!
