MANITOUWADGE, ON – Recently four of Manitouwadge Public School’s Grade 4 and 5 students became architectural scientists! As part of their unit on forces acting on structures and mechanisms in Science, they had to design a structure that would hold a raw egg. The structure had to be solid and safe enough so that when dropped from a much higher distance, the egg would stay intact.
As is seen in these photos, the students are well on their way to applying for a patent in egg transporting equipment as there wasn’t a single student with a splattered egg! These interesting experiments prove to be such great fun and learning that the students can hardly wait to do another!
A very proud student with his egg perfectly intact – Great Job! Photo MPS
