Chapleau District MNR : FLOOD WATCH
The Ministry of Natural Resources – Chapleau District is advising residents of Ivanhoe and Chapleau River Watersheds that a Flood Watch is in effect in the District.
Residents within the Foleyet and Chapleau areas should be aware that we are experiencing increased flows and water levels, and the potential exists for flooding in low lying areas. Residents may wish to take action necessary to secure or protect property in flood-prone or vulnerable areas.
MNR is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions. Further updates will be issued as appropriate.

Description of Current Conditions
With the recent warm weather snow pack is melting quickly and this is causing rising water levels. Rain may also be possible in the coming days which may further contribute to the flood risk. The public should exercise caution around fast flowing rivers.
