MANITOUWADGE, ON – April 10 & 11, 2014 the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) held an open house in the Manitouwadge Recreation Centre. The event was very well attended with approximately 120 residents visiting, among them were students from the secondary and elementary schools, council members and township staff, members of the Manitouwadge Outdoors Enthusiasts (MOE), local fur harvesters, various emergency services personel, hospital staff & board members, and many others interested in learning more about the ongoing ‘Learn More’ process relating to the potential for Manitouwadge to host a deep geological repository for storage of used nuclear fuel.
