Two Hunters Nabbed in Licence Scam
Two hunters have pleaded guilty to obtaining hunting licences through false or misleading information.
Mikulas Huttner of Thunder Bay was fined $850 and Eduard Jendek of Slov-Grob, Slovakia, was fined $2,000. The court also prohibited Jendek from hunting in Ontario for four years.
Court heard that in 2013, Huttner posed as Jendek and misrepresented the Slovakian native’s address to obtain Ontario hunting licences and validation tags for him. The use of false or misleading information to obtain licences is illegal and voids the licence.
Justice of the Peace Ray Zuliani heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Thunder Bay, on February 5, 2014.
