​Your Community Care Access Centre connects you with the care you need, at home and in your community. We provide access to home, community and school health services, facilitate placement into long-term care homes, and provide information and referral to a broad range of community-based health programs and services in Northeastern Ontario. The North East CCAC catchment area represents 42% of Ontario’s land mass and encompasses six branch offices serving a population of approximately 556,000 people over 411,000 square kilometers. The North East CCAC employs 670 staff members serving approximately 16,000 clients on any given day.

The North East CCAC’s Board of Directors is comprised of twelve volunteer members who reflect the geographic and demographic diversity of Northeastern Ontario. The Board employs a Quality Governance Approach to the governance of a community care organization through a focus on policy development, decision-making and oversight. Membership on the Board of Directors is drawn widely to achieve the balance of skills and expertise required to enable the Board to fulfil its governance responsibilities.

 

North East CCAC Director must demonstrate: an understanding of the roles of governance and management in a rapidly-changing corporate environment; the ability to offer unique expertise and skills which will inform Board discussion and decisions; effective communication skills; a commitment to the time required to prepare for and attend Board and Committee meetings; and, the absence of real or perceived conflicts of interest.

The Board welcomes all interested and qualified applicants from Northeastern Ontario, but specifically encourages applicants who have significant experience/expertise in one or both of the following areas:

 

  • Information Management
  •  Administrative Law

 

The Board also encourages applicants with special interest in francophone and/or Aboriginal/First Nations/Métis communities.
