FRAUDULENT CHEQUES INVESTIGATED
CHAPLEAU, ON – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chapleau Detachment is currently assisting Timmins Police Service, Sault Ste Marie Police Service and the Winnipeg Police Service with a fraudulent cheque investigation.
A number of cheques of various denominations have been cashed on an account for the Brunswick House First Nation Reserve. The fabricated cheques are similar those used by the Brunswick House but have missing identifiers.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122; Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by submitting an e-tip from the Crime Stoppers’ web-site at www.TipSubmit.com .
