The Township of Manitouwadge has been having an exceptionally cold winter and this has been causing some grief to our water systems. Frost on some of our streets have reached depths of 9 feet and our water mains normally run about 6 to 7 feel below the surface of the road. This is causing frozen water laterals to some of the businessess and residents and is taking up quite a bit of our time.
So far we have managed to that 27 of the 46 calls for frozen water lines and we are presently working at thawing the remainder of the frozen lines. We are receiving, on average, 2 to 3 calls a day for additional water lines.
All efforts to try and get them thawed will be made but residents and businesses will have to be patient and wait their turn as we respond in the order that we receive the calls.
The Township of Manitouwadge thanks you for your patience on this matter.
