The North Shore Stars travelled to Sudbury over the weekend of February 14th – 16th competing in the Sudbury District Girls Hockey Association Snowflake Challenge Hockey Tournament. Our girls worked hard going through the round robin undefeated and then winning the final game against Timmins on Sunday afternoon. The Stars were down by a score of 1-0 up until the final minutes of the game when they tied the game and then went on to win in the first two minutes of the overtime period. Plans are to play a few games against some Thunder Bay teams to be ready for the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association Provincial Tournament in Toronto in early April.

ABOUT NORTHSHORE STARS MIDGET GIRLS
The Northshore Stars include young women from across the Northshore and Greentsone including, for the 2013/14 season, players from: Schreiber, Terrace Bay, Marathon, Dubreuilville, Longlac, Geraldton and Nipigon. Initially started to offer female hockey players from Northshore communitie, interested in playing at a more competitive level, an alternative to moving to Thunder Bay, the team continues to evolve. The ladies, and their dedicated coaches, hope to play a few games locally this season for their many fans and supporters along the Northshore.
