New Coordinator at Superior East Labour Development Task Force
The Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation (AWiC) appoints new Labour Development Coordinator to the Superior East Labour Development Task Force (SELDTF)
The Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation (AWiC) is pleased to announce that Tamara Liddle has been appointed to the position of Labour Development Coordinator for the Superior East Labour Development Task Force. In this role, Tamara will oversee the completion of Task Force projects on a day to day basis while working directly with local businesses and community stakeholders in the Superior East region.
As an active member of the community, Tamara is excited to be working with the Task Force and believes the future of our economy lies in developing a homegrown workforce that meets the needs of local industry. Tamara brings with her more than 10 years of senior management
experience working in the forestry industry at one of the largest tree seedling operations in Canada. Most recently, Tamara was the Youth Business Advisor at the Economic Development Corporation in Wawa where she was responsible for working with community youth in areas of entrepreneurship skills and business planning techniques.
The newly developed Superior East Labour Development Task Force (SELDTF) is comprised of representatives from industry, education and training institutions, Aboriginal and government organizations – with the goal of preparing the regional workforce to meet the critical skills
requirements of all sectors of the workforce, specially Mining and Forestry sectors.

AWiC is 1 of 25 Workforce Planning Boards across Ontario that is funding by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. AWiC’s mission is to identify workforce issues that affect communities in the Algoma District and to provide solutions to these issues by engaging local stakeholders and partners. The organization’s role is to provide a link between job seekers, employers and skills development services.
