Cold wind chills of minus 40 to minus 45 today or tonight.

A ridge of high pressure is building across Northern Ontario and bringing very cold temperatures combined with moderate northerly winds. Extreme wind chill values ranging from minus 40 to minus 45 are currently occurring north of Lake Superior and expected to move into portions of Northeastern Ontario this evening.

People outdoors should exercise extreme caution as exposed skin may freeze in less than 10 minutes.

The wind chill warning has been ended for portions of Northwestern Ontario as winds have become light.
