Revised Start Date for Marathon PGM-Cu Mine Project Public Hearing
Please be advised that the Joint Panel reviewing the proposed Marathon Platinum Group Metals and Copper Mine project has announced a revised the start date for the public hearing. The hearing will now begin in Marathon, Ontario on February 18, 2014, and will be completed within approximately 4 weeks.
A revised Public Notice has been placed on the Public Registry. A revised preliminary schedule will be posted shortly. The Public Notice can be viewed at:

The revised start date follows requests from Stillwater Canada Inc. (CEAR 615) as well as concerns raised by other participants (CEAR 614).
February 18, 2014 is the latest date the Panel is able to start of the hearing and still meet its timeline to produce a report within an overall time period of 390 days, as required through its Terms of Reference, revised pursuant to CEAA 2012.
Please note that participants who wish to make an oral presentation to the Panel at any the hearing sessions are now asked to register by contacting the Panel Secretariat by January 20, 2014, in order to reserve a time and to assist with scheduling. Written submissions should be filed with the Secretariat by February 7, 2014.
