Notice of Change in Service
Please be advised that the Township of Manitouwadge has suspend motor vehicle extrication and rescue service provided by the Manitouwadge Volunteer Fire Department on the Caramat Road.
This is due to no road maintenance being done on the provincially owned road, including snow removal. the condition of the road has become unsafe and poses a risk to any and all users of the Caramat Road. This measure is being taken due to safety concerns for all emergency responders and to prevent damage to emergency services equipment.
The Township and the Fire Department regret having to suspend emergency services provided to this stretch of road operated by the province as many of the travelling public and commercial users of the road are residents of our community.
This removal of service will remain in effect until further notice.
