A tourist operator in the Hornepayne area has been fined for failing to comply with conditions of a land use permit.
Forde Lake Lodge Limited was ordered to pay $2,930.11 in outstanding fees and a $500 fine when it failed to pay its annual land use permit fees.
The court heard that between July 4, 2010, and February 20, 2013, Forde Lake Lodge Limited failed to pay the annual land use fees for its commercial outpost camp operating on Fraser Lake. Conservation officers investigated after the Ministry of Natural Resources made repeated attempts to collect the outstanding fees. The company was charged with failing to comply with the conditions of its land use permit.
Justice of the Peace Carl Young heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Peterborough, on October 10, 2013.
