Algoma Country and Tourism Thunder Bay were recognized at the Annual Ontario Tourism Summit in Toronto. They were awarded Tourism Marketing Partnership Award for Ride Lake Superior from the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation. The Ride Lake Superior program brought together Destination Marketing Organizations, accommodations, restaurants, and attractions in an effort to market one of the most iconic bucket list rides in Canada. The presentation of the awards was done at the Gala Dinner at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Tourism Summit was hosted by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) and brings together the industry to learn from their peers and celebrate this great industry.
Ride Lake Superior vetted businesses around the lake and on the ancillary routes, such as the Grand Algoma Tour for motorcycle friendliness. Branding, a complete marketing plan and dozens of media fam tours have been implemented since the inception of this program.
“Although Paul and I were the ones up on the stage, this program was made possible thru our partnership with Tourism Northern Ontario. I also want to thank the Go Ride Program of Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership, our partners in Duluth Minnesota, Keweenaw CVB in Michigan, and Bayfield Wisconsin CVB. This program is innovative and speaks directly to the touring motorcycle enthusiast. BC Hughes went above and beyond with the program development and truly allowed us to have a product that was a privilege to bring into the market place” said Carol Caputo, Executive Director of Algoma Country.
