Rain tonight giving 50 mm by Sunday night.
Rain at times heavy in advance of an approaching low pressure system has started over the eastern shore of Lake Superior and will spread toward Sudbury later tonight. Total rainfall amounts of 50 mm or more are expected during this event. Embedded thunderstorms are possible and could give locally higher amounts. Heavy rain is expected to taper off to a few showers or flurries Sunday night as the low tracks toward Quebec.
A low pressure system currently located over Colorado is forecast to intensify as it approaches the Great Lakes region on Sunday. This system is expected to bring significant snowfall to parts of Northwestern Ontario and significant rainfall to parts of Northeastern Ontario. The weather system should move into Quebec late in the day on Monday.
