Holy Angels Running Team – Results are in from Red Rock & Thunder Bay Competitions
RED ROCK, ON – The Holy Angels Running Team participated in the St. Hilary’s 24th Annual Cross Country Run on October 16th. Students trained for weeks with the help of Kim Figliomeni. In total, 14 students from Grade 2 to Grade 8 made the trip to Red Rock to enter the 2.8 km race. In the Junior Boys division, with great determination, Cosimo Figliomeni came in 1st out of 67 boys at a time of 12:12, and C.J Figliomeni finished 4th at 12:58.
Holy Angels 7 Junior Boys combined times, placed first in the Junior Boys Division out of 12 schools. Holy Angels Junior Girls division, Julianna Kabatay finished 2nd at her best time of 12:25. In our Senior Girls, Diana Figliomeni came in 4th at her best time of 13:25 and the senior boys and girls all achieved their goal of finishing the race, and were very proud of their accomplishments. Together, our school came in second for best results from a school. Everyone set their time to beat for next year.
THUNDER BAY, ON – Saturday, October 19, four HAS runners competed in the 42 Annual Thunderwolves Mid Canada Elementary Schools Run at Lakehead University. Cosimo. C.J., Nick and Diana Figliomeni took part in the 3km run and set their times for next year. There were 100 Elementary boys running and 121 Elementary girls and the competition was tight. The runners are looking forward to next year’s race!
