Thunder Bay – Superior North Celebrates its Artists and Arts Organizations

MPP Michael Gravelle Announces Ontario Arts Council’s Grants for 2013–14

Artists and arts organizations enrich Ontario’s communities in many ways, enhancing our quality of life and contributing significantly to our economy. Today, we are celebrating the work of artists and arts organizations who over the past year have received funding from the Ontario Arts Council, the province’s primary funding body for the arts. Over the last year, a total of $ 219,050 was allocated to professional artists and arts organizations in the riding of Thunder Bay – Superior North.

The arts are a vital part of Ontario’s communities. The culture sector directly generates almost $20 billion annually to Ontario’s economy, and creates more than 250,000 jobs in communities around the province. In addition to the economic impact, a healthy arts and culture sector contributes to the quality of life in our communities.
