OPP INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT IN CARAMAT
CARAMAT, ON – September 30, 2013 at approximately 8:20pm, members of the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a residence on Highway # 625 in Caramat regarding a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they located an injured male who was subsequently transported to hospital for medical attention as a result of having received non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation to-date has determined that the suspect attended the victim’s residence on Highway #625 in Caramat and confronted him outside. The suspect was carrying a long gun and during the brief exchange a shot was fired striking the victim in the leg. The victim subsequently contacted the OPP when the suspect ran off southbound toward a bush road.
The suspect is described as a male wearing a black ski mask, a black long-sleeved shirt, black pants and a green “puffy” type vest.
