Four years ago, we were introduced to three unlikely friends who after a night of partying in Las Vegas wake up with no recollection of what happened, or where their friend is. With over 230 million dollars in ticket sales, The Hangover became an instant cult classic. Two years later, the boys reunited for another adventure, this time in Thailand, scoring another 250 million dollars in theatre ticket sales. So it was no real surprise that a trilogy was announced with Part 3 expected to be the final chapter in the epic misadventures of Phil, Stu, Alan and the crew. Hangover 3 is this week’s premier release in a string week that features a total of nine new releases. Here is a brief synopsis of each of this week’s new movies;

Hangover 3: starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifinakis – When one of their friends is kidnapped by an angry gangster, the “Wolf Pack” reunite to track down Mr. Chow, who has escaped from prison and holds important information needed to get their friend back. After Earth: starring Will Smith and Jaden Smith – A crash landing leaves a young man and his father stranded on Earth, a millennium after events have forced humanity’s escape. With his father injured, the young man must embark on a heroic journey to search for help before it’s too late. The Purge: starring Ethan Hawke – In the not too distant future, one day is set aside every year where all crime is legal. After a young man lets a stranger inside of his house during “The Purge”, his family is held hostage as a group of delinquents attempt to hunt down the stranger in their home. Horses of McBride: starring Aidan Quinn – The true story of how a community pulled together at Christmas to rescue a pair of stranded and starving horses trapped in the Rockie Mountains. (Drama) (DVD)
Much Ado About Nothing: starring Amy Acker – A modern rendition of Shakespeare’s classic comedy about two pairs of lovers with different takes on romance and a way with words. (Drama/Comedy) (DVD)
Nothing Left to Fear: starring Anne Heche – Strange things start happening to a family after they move into their new house in a small Kansas town. Now they must determine why they are being targeted before it’s too late. (Horror) (DVD)
Static: starring Milo Ventimiglia– A couple facing marital problems after losing their child finds their life together further complicated by a mysterious visitor with questionable intentions. (Horror) (DVD) trailer not available
Stuck in Love: starring Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly– A writer, his ex-wife, and their teenage children come to terms with the complexities of love in all its forms over the course of one tumultuous year. (Drama/Romance) (DVD)
