The Mine Your Own Business program, administered by the Economic Development Corportation of Wawa, is pround to annouce the launch of the
Prodigy Argonaut Young Dreamers and Doers Business Challenge.
PHASE 1 – Young Dreamers Business Challenge
The first phase of this contest, Prodigy Argonaut Young Dreamers Business Challenge was launched on October 21st and entries are currently being accepted. The challenge consists of describing, in one paragraph, a business idea ,which would be suitable as a small business start-up or as a summer company for youths between the age of 15 and 29, and why it would work in Wawa and surrounding area. The top five entries, will each receive a $100 cash prize, sponsored by Prodigy Argonaut.
Entries can be submitted online; through email (tliddle@edcwawa.ca), on Facebook by posting on the MYOB Wawa page and including #MYOBDreamer in the post; or through Twitter by tweeting an idea and using #MYOBDreamer. Entries can also be submitted at:
- EDCW office at 96 Broadway Avenue
- North Algoma Literacy Coalition at 50 Broadway Avenue
- Michipicoten High School
- Ecole Secondaire St. Joseph.
Participants can enter their submissions as an individual or as part of a group. There is no limit to how many entries can be submitted per group/individual, so participants are encouraged to enter more than once. Entry period for Phase 1: Dreamers Challenge closes November 29, 2013.
To be eligible to enter, participants must be between 15 – 29 years old, and reside within the Superior East Region (Wawa, Dubreuilville, White River, and Michipicoten First Nation).
PHASE 2 – Young Doers Business Challenge
The second phase of the contest, Prodigy Argonaut Young Doers Business Challenge running January 6 till February 28, 2014, offers participants the opportunity to win even greater cash prizes if they complete a business plan.
