THE RED ROCK HISTORICAL SOCIETY’S TRINKETS AND TREASURES ROAD SHOW
RED ROCK, ON – I am sure you have heard of people who start rummaging around in an attic or a basemen or some other forgotten space and they find an old painting or a document or a piece of glassware. They decide to have it appraised only to find that that what they thought was a piece of junk turns out to be a very valuable artifact. Well, the Red Rock Historical Society wants to help you find out if you are one of those lucky people!
Sunday October 6th, 2013 the Society is hosting the Trinkets Treasures Road Show. The event will take place at the Red Rock Legion from 10am to 5pm. Reputable Antique dealers will be on hand to assess the value of articles presented by participants.
In order to have your item evaluated you can register with the Red Rock Historical Society in advance and a time slot will be set aside for or you are free to just drop by with articles you would like to have appraised. The cost of appraisals will be $20.00 for up to 3 items.
We are hoping members of the general public will come out to participate in the fun. In addition to the appraisals, there will be great food provided by the Legion Ladies who are famous for their good food. There will be muffins and coffee in the morning, soup and sandwiches at noon and a BBQ later in the afternoon. OntarioNewsNorth.com will be on location, recording your stories and experiences having your items appraised throughout the event!
Several vendors and artisans have been invited to set up booths to display and sell their wares. Our plan is to include the surrounding communities from across the Northshore, we hope lots of people will take advantage of this opportunity to have their treasures appraised and come and join in the fun even if it is only to watch.
At 4PM, a winner will be chosen when we draw the winning ticket for the Red Rock Historical Society beautiful historical Photo Quilt.
