New Fires
No new fires reported on September 3.
No new fires were reported by the time of this report on September 4. Fire arrivals for the next few days are expected to be low with minimal fire behaviour.
Active Fires
Existing fires are remotely situated in the Cochrane district and are being observed. No issues are anticipated with any of these active fires.
Fire Hazard
The forest fire hazard will remain low throughout the region while Manitoulin Island is exhibiting a high fire hazard. Lingering clouds, low temperatures, and a chance of showers is in the forecast for the next few days, keeping the anticipated fire hazard low.
Out of Province Deployment – Montana
On Monday August 26, 2013 the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services (AFFES) program sent a large deployment of FireRangers and overhead staff from Ontario to the State of Montana to help support their forest fire suppression efforts. The total number of personnel currently in Montana is 109 people. This deployment will last for 19 days which includes travel to and from Montana.
