NIPIGON, ON –Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Schreiber Detachment is investigating a head-on motor vehicle collision.
The head-on collision, between two passenger vehicles, was reported to the OPP on August 21, 2013 at 10:04 p.m. on Highway 17, in a construction zone, approximately 17 kilometres east of Terrace Bay ON.
Upon arriving at the scene officers, assisted by Paramedics and the Terrace Bay Fire Department, pulled a trapped male from his smoking vehicle.
Police closed Highway 17 for approximately two hours while they conducted the investigation.
One male was taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Hospital in Thunder Bay with life-threatening injuries.
Officers at the Schreiber Detachment continue to investigate and charges are pending.
