MALE ON OFF-ROAD VEHICLE CHARGED WITH OVER 80
HORNEPAYNE, ON – July 9, 2013 officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Hornepayne Detachment were on patrol on Kirmick Lodge Road in Frost Township at 2:30 pm. The officers observed an off-road vehicle travelling erratically and at a high rate of speed. Upon stopping and speaking with the driver the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver. The driver was unable to produce a driver’s license as it was suspended. After failing a roadside breath test, the driver, 51-year-old Rodger PARKER of Hornepayne was arrested and escorted to the OPP detachment for further breath tests.
As a result the accused stands charged with Drive Motor Vehicle with over 80 mgs of Alcohol. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Hornepayne Criminal Court on August 1, 2013. The accused was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Drive while under Suspension. He will appear in Hearst Provincial Offences Court on September 10, 2013 to answer to this charge.
