MALE ON DIRT BIKE CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING
WAWA, ON – July 6, 2013 an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wawa Detachment was on patrol on Highway 101 in McMurray Township at 1:25 am. The officer observed a dirt bike travelling west bound on the shoulder of the highway. Upon stopping and speaking with the driver the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver.
As a result the driver, 24-year-old Jonathon PURDY of London, Ontario was arrested for Impaired Driving. After subsequent breath tests the accused was further charged with Over 80 mg Blood Alcohol Content. In addition he was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for Drive Off-Road Vehicle on Highway.
The accused was released on a promise to appear and will attend Wawa Criminal Court on August 12, 2013.
