Demanding Action on Mercury Poison
#freegrassy #sovsummer
WHAT: Hundreds of Grassy Narrows Indigenous Nation supporters, including a massive 70 person strong marching samba band, are parading to Premier Wynne’s house. Their banners will read “You wouldn’t live with mercury in your home, why must Grassy Narrows?”
WHEN: Sunday, August 25 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Meet at the North Toronto Collegiate field on Roehampton St. just east of Yonge, one block north of Eglinton.
WHY: They are demanding action on ongoing mercury poisoning that has taken a tragic toll on three generations of families in Grassy Narrows. One year ago Premier Wynne promised to act on this crisis. But nothing has been done to improve the lives of people in Grassy Narrows, only more talk. Grassy Narrows needs justice now.
