Interview With Dave Raymond Re: Appointment to Represent Manitouwadge on 2242348 Ontario Ltd.

MANITOUWADGE, ON – At the regular meeting of Manitouwadge Town Council June 12, 2013 a motion was passed to appoint Dave Raymond, past EDO for the Twp of Mtwdge, as representative of Manitouwadge in the Community Joint Venture of the Township of Manitouwadge, the Town of Marathon, and the Ojibways of the Pic River First Nation (a.k.a.: 2242348 Ontario Ltd). The appointment makes alot of sense as Dave Raymond was integral in the initial creation of the Community Joint Venture between the 3 communities and therefore is very aware of how and why the venture was launched and those involved. Among the reasons for creating the Community Joint Venture was the importance of identifying new economic development opportunities for the communities within the forestry sector.
Among the successful endeavours already acheived by the Community Joint Venture is the Nawiinginokiima Forest Management Corporation for which Daryl Skworchinski (past Town of Marathon EDO) is Chair. Mr. Skworchinski provided an update on the Nawiinginokiima Forest Management Corporation recently which can be viewed by CLICKING HERE.
Thank you to Dave Raymond on behalf of the residents of Manitouwadge for his acceptance of this appointment which is a volunteer position, it is hoped that others may follow his example in regards to volunteersim and stepping up to be part of the kind of community that you want Manitouwadge (or which ever Northshore community you reside in) to be.
