SCHREIBER, ON – “You snooze, you lose!” Those were the rules for the Wake A Thon at Holy Angels Catholic School on Saturday, May 11th. Students from Grades 5-8 attended the event, where they had to stay up all night, while participating in activities such as Hide and Seek, Buddy Feeding, Dodgeball and many more fun-filled games. Some prizes included custom made hats from Hollywood Filane’s Sportswear, $5 gift certificates to Costa’s Foodateria, and a gift basket from Filane’s Dollar n’ More Store. Students also won gloves from Cebrario’s Hardware and a pair of Crocs from Napa Autoparts. All students had a lot of fun, and raised $1094.00 for the Brick by Brick Fundraiser, putting us even closer to our board goal to raise $8500.00 to build a school in Kenya.
We would like to thank everyone who participated, as well as all those who sponsored the participants. Another huge thank you to Ms. Hara, Ms. Maenpaa, and Mr. Fenton for supervising the event, and Karen Figliomeni and Kim Figliomeni Filane for cooking breakfast in the morning.
We hope to be doing this again next year!
