UPDATE – FATALITY AT WESDOME GOLD MINE – Deceased Identified
SUPERIOR EAST, ON – April 30, 2013 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wawa Detachment were advised that a mining accident had occurred at Wesdome Gold Mine in Legarde Township. OPP assisted the Ministry of Labour (MOL) with their investigation and has now concluded their involvement in the matter. The deceased male has been identified as 35-year-old Dominic BERNARD of Blind River.
The Wesdome Gold Mine Eagle River Mine site is located approximately 70 kilometers west of Highway 17 on Paint Lake Road 35 kilometers south of White River, Ontario.
