SUPERIOR EAST, ON – April 30, 2013 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wawa Detachment were advised that an industrial accident had occurred at Wesdome Gold Mine in Legarde Township. One male was confirmed deceased at the scene. Currently OPP are assisting the Ministry of Labour (MOL) with their investigation. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The Wesdome Gold Mine is located approximately 70 kilometers west of Highway 17 on Paint Lake Road 35 kilometers south of White River, Ontario.
