VEHICLE AND TRAIN COLLISION
HORNEPAYNE, ON – April 7, 2013 at approximately 12:35 pm, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Hornepayne Detachment were called to a motor vehicle collision between a pickup truck and a CN Railway Freight Train. The collision occurred at the railway crossing situated on Becker Road in the Township of Hornepayne, Ontario.
The pickup truck was northbound on Becker Road collided with a westbound CN Railway Freight Train. The driver was the lone occupant inside the pickup truck and sustained minor injuries. Becker Road was closed for approximately two hours while OPP processed the scene.
As a result of the investigation, a 70 year old female driver from Hornepayne, Ontario was charged with Disobey Railway Crossing Signal Fail to Stop contrary to section 163(1) of the Highway Traffic Act Of Ontario.
