MARATHON ON – Thursday March 21, 2013 at approximately 2:30 pm, an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marathon detachment observed a white Dodge Caravan crossing the fog line on several occasions on Highway 17 in Pic Township, east of Marathon.
Police stopped the vehicle to check the driver’s sobriety. While speaking to the driver the officer observed cannabis marihuana in the front occupant area of the vehicle. All 5 occupants were initially arrested for possession of a controlled substance. After a search of the vehicle and an investigation into the drugs, it was determined that only 2 males would be charged.
Erik STONE, 28, from Revelstoke B.C and Jonathon PRICE, 29, from Kelowna B.C were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and released from custody with an appearance date of May 30, 2013 in Marathon court. Approximately 25 grams of cannabis marihuana and 14 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) were seized in the search of the vehicle.
