MARATHON ON – Saturday March 16, 2013 at approximately 10:00 pm, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marathon detachment observed a grey Toyota Tundra being operated in an erratic manner on Stevens Avenue in the Town of Marathon.
Police stopped the vehicle and while speaking to the driver, detected an odour of alcohol on his breath and demanded he provide a roadside breath sample. The result was a fail and the driver was arrested.
Anthony CARUSO, 33 years old, from Thunder Bay was escorted to the Marathon OPP detachment and provided further breath samples into an Intoxilyzer instrument. CARUSO was charged with Over 80 and released with a court appearance in Marathon on April 24, 2013.
As a result of the drinking and driving charge, the accused had his vehicle impounded for 7 days and his licence suspended for 90 days.
