MPS Students Take The Lead In Setting and Achieving Academic Goals

MANITOUWADGE, ON – Recently our students became leaders once again as they were given the opportunity to hold ‘Student Led Conferences’ in their classrooms.

The student’s parents were able to attend, at their child’s classroom, and hear their child explain how they are progressing towards their academic goal(s) for the 2012-13 school year. Teachers were in attendance to answer any additional questions the parents might have but for the most part, students seemed to cover all the bases, and had everything well under control!

The opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning through setting goals, tracking progress and communicating their success with parents significantly contributes to positive results on their report cards. The teachers and staff would like to express their thanks to the many parents who made the time to attend this very important evening in their child’s learning experience, your support and attention reminds students of how important their education and success is to us all.
