MARATHON ON – Monday January 28, 2013 approximately 2:40 pm, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marathon detachment observed a vehicle stuck in a snow bank along the side of Highway 17 near White Lake Provincial park. A lone male occupant exited the driver’s seat when officers came upon the vehicle.
Police spoke with the driver and determined that he had consumed alcohol and was exhibiting signs of impairment. Jeffrey DAVIDSON, 38, from Owen Sound ON was arrested and charged with Impaired operation of a motor vehicle, Over 80 and Having open liquor in a vehicle. He is to appear in Marathon Criminal Court on March 28, 2013.
The public is encouraged to call 911 or contact police at 1-800-310-1122 whenever suspecting that a driver is impaired while operating a motor vehicle whether it is a Car, Truck, Motorcycle, ATV, Snowmobile, Boat or even an Airplane.
