NIPIGON, ON – January 20, 2013 officers of the Nipigon OPP Detachment completed an investigation resulting in three individuals being charged with a weapon offence.
A warrant was executed at a residence located within the community of Lake Helen First Nation. As a result, a 31 year old female, a 41 year old male and a 12 year old youth have been charged with Possession of a Weapon without a Licence contrary to section 91(2) of the Criminal Code. All are scheduled to appear in Nipigon Court on March 26, 2013.
Police seized several weapons including an automatic knife, hand-to-hand weapons and small bladed throwing objects.
