Heavy snow today into tonight.
A Colorado low intensifying into a major winter storm will track over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay later today. Snow, heavy at times, will continue to affect the region as colder air arrives from the north. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are expected by Thursday morning. Snow will taper off Thursday as the storm centre moves across the North Bay area into Quebec.
Winter driving conditions will quickly deteriorate and become hazardous due to quickly accumulating snow on untreated roads and visibility reduced to less than 500 metres at times in heavy snow. Travel plans should be adjusted accordingly.
