MANITOUWADGE, ON – Monday, January 30th, Family Literacy Day was held  at the Manitouwadge Public Library in collaboration with the Manitouwadge Best Start Hub.

Nearly a dozen families attended, many in their PJs, enjoying a puppet show, songs and stories presented by Best Start Hub staff.  Prior to the evening wrapping up , Best Start Hub bilingual programmer Marie-Pier, presented a collection of books to the Franklin Family, winners of the Family Reading Contest a challenge held in the week preceding Family Literacy Day.

Finally there was a snack of chips, cheesies and juice offered to the children which they enjoyed while Alisha Piche (library staff member) read one last book for the group.  Each child who attended was given a book to take home with them a nice addition to a very enjoyable evening.
