Northern Ontario Men’s Curling Championships Return to Nipigon
NIPIGON, ON – Championship curling returns to Nipigon, February 6 -10, 2013 as the Nipigon Curling Club will host the top men’s curlers in Northern Ontario. Nine teams will compete at the Nipigon Community Centre arena for the Dominion 2013 NOCA (Northern Ontario Curling Association) Men’s Provincial. The winner will represent Northern Ontario at the Tim Horton’s Brier, the Canadian Men’s Curling Championships in Edmonton March 2-10. 2013.
This is not the first time the Nipigon Curling Club has hosted this prestigious event. Less than a decade ago, in 2006, the Men’s Championship was hosted by the community and was an overwhelming success. The 2013 championships in Nipigon include exciting activities off the ice, among them; a spectator’s lounge, 50/50 draws, a silent auction and local school participation.
