HORNEPAYNE, ON – On New Year’s Day at approximately 4:00 am the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Hornepayne Detachment were dispatched to a dispute that had escalated to a physical confrontation at a residence on Fifth Avenue. Investigation revealed that a confrontation that had begun at the Royal Canadian Legion New Year’s Eve party was then continued at the residence. A male was transported to the Hornepayne Community Hospital by Algoma EMS Ambulance with injuries.
As a result 44-year-old Noah MEDEIROS of Hornepayne, was arrested and charged with assault cause bodily harm. The accused was later released and is scheduled to appear in Criminal Court in April.
