MARATHON , ON – -20oC temperatures did not discourage participation in the Marathon Country Ski and Snowshoe Club’s World Ski and Snowshoe Day activities.

Club President Kim Ransom posted this to Facebook “Hearty participants enjoyed the freshly groomed ski trails and fully covered snowshoe trails in brilliant sunshine and still conditions. All trails are now groomed and have set up very nicely. Fairways remain thin and icy in places. Access to the Jackrabbit trail is best by skiing backwards on the bunny hop and up the hill past the ski club garages (through the old road and across the fairway with new groomed trail). Care needs to be taken entering and exiting the Challenge trail because of icy conditions…. the rest of the trail and the Olympic are in good shape for both classic and skate skiing.”

Congratulations to the Club on yet another succeful event, if you would like to be involved with the Marathon Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Club have the opportunity to meet new people, have fun, enjoy some of Northwestern Ontario’s most beautiful winter trails and contribute to attracting tourists to Marathon visit them on their facebook page by CLICKING HERE.
