NIPIGON, ON –On December 17, 2012 at approximately 4:50 a.m. Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy 11, Municipality of Greenstone.
The driver of a west bound tractor trailer unit lost control causing the unit to roll onto its side. The vehicle came to a stop on Hwy 11 at the bottom of Orient Bay hill, blocking both lanes of traffic. As a result, the highway was closed for approximately 5 hours until the vehicle could be removed.
The two male occupants of the vehicle were not injured in the collision.
The 46 year old male driver of North York, Ontario, has been charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
