WHITE RIVER, ON – November 24, 2012 at 4:00 pm the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) White River Detachment officers were advised that there was a disturbance on a Greyhound Bus that was traveling North bound on Highway 17 towards White River. The bus driver indicated that a male passenger had been kicking and screaming while in the bathroom on the bus and that he seemed to be under the influence of some kind of drug.
OPP spoke with the male and other passengers and as a result located and seized just under 1 kilogram of cocaine and a large quantity of prescription medication. The male, 34 year old Marcel VEZINA of Greenstone, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following drug offences;
1. Drug Trafficking – Cocaine
2. Possession for the Purpose – Cocaine
3. Drug Trafficking – Other Drugs
4. Possession for the Purpose – Other Drugs
The accused was taken to Sault Ste Marie to attend a bail hearing. He is scheduled to appear on November 28, 2012.
