I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope that your holidays are filled with family, friends and relaxation! As we get into late December, movie release dates are kind of “all over the map”. Below is a synopsis of this week’s new releases with the release date in brackets:
DECEMBER’s NEW RELEASES
Total Recall: starring Colin Farrell– A man finds himself on the run and begins to suspect that he is a spy after visiting Rekall – a company that provides its clients with implanted fake memories of a life they would like to have led. (Sci-Fi) (DVD and Blu-Ray) (December 18th)
Pitch Perfect: starring Anna Kendrick– A freshman at a University is convinced into joining “The Bellas”, her school’s all-girls singing group as they prepare to take on their male rivals in a campus competition. (Comedy/Music) (DVD and Blu-Ray) (December 18th)
Premium Rush: starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt– In Manhattan, a bike messenger picks up an envelope that attracts the interest of a dirty cop, who pursues the cyclist throughout the city. (Action/Thriller) (DVD and Blu-Ray) (December 21st)
Resident Evil Retribution: starring Milla Jovovich -Alice fights alongside a resistance movement in the continuing battle against the Umbrella Corporation and the undead. (Sci-Fi/Thriller) (DVD, Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray) (December 21st)
Trouble with the Curve: starring Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams- An ailing baseball scout in takes his daughter along for one last recruiting trip where she unexpectedly falls in love. (Drama) (DVD and Blu-Ray) (December 18th)
Killer Joe: starring Matthew McConaughey and Emile Hirsch– In order to cover a debt, a young man hires a hit man to collect on his mother’s life insurance policy. As the plot progresses things don’t end up going exactly as planned… (Crime/Suspense) (DVD and Blu-Ray) (December 21st)
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days– With school out for another summer, Greg and his friends try to keep themselves busy and out of trouble. (Family) (DVD and Blu-Ray) (December 18th)
Arbitrage: starring Richard Gere- A troubled hedge fund manager, desperate to complete the sale of his trading empire, makes an error that forces him to turn to an unlikely person for help. (Thriller) (DVD and Blu-Ray) (December 21st)
Beasts of the Southern Wild– A six year old girl living in the Louisiana Bayou must learn to cope with life as her alcoholic father’s health begins to fade and a flood threatens the only home she’s ever known. (Drama/Fantasy) (DVD) (December 18th)
Blue Lagoon the Awakening– Two high school students become stranded on a tropical island and must rely on each other for survival while also falling in love. (Drama/Romance) (DVD) (December 18th)
Butter: starring Jennifer Garner– In small-town Iowa, an adopted girl discovers her talent for butter carving and finds herself pitted against an ambitious local woman in their town’s annual contest. (Comedy) (DVD) (December 21st)
For Greater Glory: starring Andy Garcia– The story of the Cristeros War between the people of Mexico and the atheistic Mexican government as one man emerges as a savior for his people. (Western/Drama) (DVD) (December 18th)
Good Doctor: starring Orlando Bloom– A young doctor goes to extreme measures in order to remain in the service of a female patient with a kidney disorder. (Drama) (DVD) (December 21st)
Halo 4 Forward Unto Dawn– A UNSC Cadet must conquer his inner fears and join forces with super-soldier John-117 to take down a massive faction of the Covenant. Based on the popular Halo 4 video game! (Sci-Fi) (DVD and Blu-Ray) (December 18th)
FOR THE GAMERS
No new games this week, but there is STILL TIME to special order games and have them arrive in time for Christmas (pending availability). Cut-off date is Wednesday, December 19th! Please contact us for more details!
