MANITOUWADGE, ON – The Grade 8 students of Our Lady of Lourdes visited the JK/SK class to teach their young friends. The Grade 8 students have been studying cells and body systems, as noted in their Science curriculum.
They used their knowledge to generate age appropriate games, which taught the young students about the systems in their bodies. Some Grade 8’s did matching games, colouring sheet, puzzles, interactive games, and fun lessons. As the JK/SK learned about the digestive system, respiratory system, skeletal system, nervous system, and muscular system, we saw many smiles and laughs.
Both the “teachers” and their younger peers thouroughly enjoyed the experience. “It was fun.” said one SK student; one of the Grade 8 students aggreed saying “It was a good experience and I would like to do it again.”
