Bonspiel Kicks-off Curling Season

November 23 & 24th, the Les Dafoe Memorial Bonspiel was a great kick off to start the Marathon Curling Club’s 2012-13 season. The event was organized with much help from the MCC Executive and long time member & friend to Les, Roger Hamilton.

The weekend brought out 14 mixed men’s or women’s teams who curled Friday Night and during the day Saturday. This fun speil had ‘no rules’ and was wrapped up Saturday night with a spaghetti meal followed by speeches and prizes prior to attendees ending the night enjoying great music provided by a DJ service.

As this was a fun memorial speil, winners were all those who showed their support to the club and memories. The “winners” were drawn from a bucket of names, andit was the Gregorash team who took the honours.

The Marathon Curling Club would once again like to thank Roger, The Executive, the Dafoe family and all who attended and came out to watch and support the event.

Fundraising Draw

JUNIOR CURLING BEGINS

Tuesday, November 27th the Junior Curlers took their place on the ice. Rregistration forms are available at the club, fee is $75/child for the season. The Junior Curling program is every Tuesday from 4:30-6pm. *Indoor shoes required.
