WHY ATTEND?

It reviews the types of medications people with diabetes may be required to use to help manage their condition, proper diet and exercise guidelines, information on target blood glucose levels and blood glucose testing as well as an outline of the various complications of diabetes and how to prevent them.
Participants will learn that 80-percent of people with diabetes die of heart disease, that more people die from diabetes than from cancer or AIDS combined, that one person dies every 10 seconds of diabetes, that it is the leading cause of adult blindness, kidney failure and non-traumatic amputations. They will also learn that with proper management these complications may be prevented.
