Snow, ice pellets, and some freezing rain.
An area of snow associated with post tropical storm Sandy is pushing occurring across much of Northeastern Ontario. The snow is mixed with ice pellets in many areas along with patchy freezing rain. Further amounts of 2 to locally 5 centimetres of snow and ice pellets may be expected tonight before it becomes more patchy on Wednesday.
Brisk northerly winds are accompanying the precipitation tonight With gusts to 60 km/h. There is some risk that a more organized area of freezing rain may occur over the next day or so, but there are conflicting forecast signals for where and when this may occur. If it becomes more likely, a freezing rain warning may be required.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended. Please monitor the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada at www.weatheroffice.gc.ca
