OPP Helicopter Has Located Vehicle of Wanted Man In Connection With Nova Scotia Case
WANTED MALE FROM NOVA SCOTIA – UPDATE
FORT FRANCES, ON – September 30, 2012, members of the OPP Greenstone Detachment responded to a call of a male in distress on Lukinto Lake Road in the Geraldton area. Subsequent to this initial investigation, OPP arrested David James LEBLANC, age 47 of Nova Scotia, who is charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement in relation to a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigation in Nova Scotia. LEBLANC remains in OPP custody and will be transferred to RCMP custody in Nova Scotia at a later date.
OPP can now confirm that Greenstone Detachment members, in conjunction with OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team and the OPP Helicopter successfully located a 2003 Hyundai Elantra on October 3. The vehicle was located unoccupied in a remote wilderness area approximately 25 kilometres from Highway 11.
A second person, identified as William CUNNINGHAM of Nova Scotia, is being sought in connection with the RCMP investigation. CUNNINGHAM, age 31 years is described as 5’3” tall, weighs 119 pounds and has brown hair. He has been known to dress as a female.
Ontario continues to assist RCMP with this investigation by providing additional support from OPP North West and North East Emergency Response Teams, OPP North West Region Canine Unit, OPP North West Region Crime Unit, Thunder Bay Police Service Canine Unit, and members of the Anishinabek Police Service.
